Outstanding taxi transfer with a knowledgable local guide
Where to begin...Kostas is a friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, Greek guide/taxi driver/history enthusiast. We initially met him at the Mycenae Archaeological Site where he offered to helpfully drive us directly to our next destination in Nafplio. During the drive he provided us with invaluable information and insights not only to the region, but to Greek history in general. We were so pleased with his service that we proceeded to book him 2 days later for a tour/transfer from Nafplio - Epidaurus Theatre - Ermioni. Once again the journey was comfortable, the information plentiful and the service exceptional. We would 100% recommend Kostas to anyone visiting the Peloponnese area for impeccable transfers & tours. More than a Taxi driver
Kostas was our driver for a private tour to both Mycenae and Epidaurus. However he was much more than a driver as he was very well informed about the area, having lived in it all his life, and he also had an involvement and interest archeology. He willingly shared his knowledge. He charged 70 euros for a return trip to both the sites and this included waiting for two hours at Mycenae and one and a half at Epidaurus, which gave us ample time to explore the sites. For one trip, completely unrequested on our part, he even provided a small breakfast for us as we had arranged to go to the site early. I highly recommend his services.

More than a taxi driver
Kostas of Mycenae taxis was our driver but he was much more than this. Apart from being courteous and efficient, arriving when he said he would, he was also very knowledgeable of the Mycenae area and also Epidaurus. We hired him for both trips and having transported us early in the morning to the sites he waited for us on each occasion, allowing ample time to explore it. Unrequested on our part, he even provided some breakfast of spanakopita pies on one trip. He has a strong interest in archeology and has been involved in digs around the Mycenae area where he has lived all his life and hence is well informed . I highly recommend his services if you need to have private transport to the sites near Naphlio. The overall cost was 70 Euros which is good value.

Perfect Day in the Peloponnese
Kostas is amazing! He was a wonderful guide on our recent day visit to the Peloponnese as he drove us in his very comfortable car between the Mycenae archaeological site, Epidaurus and Nafplio, before returning us to Athens. He gave us generous and perfect amounts of time at each location, and as we travelled he shared a vast range of stories and information covering mythology, ancient history, modern history, local geography, climate - all of it absolutely fascinating and deepening our experience and appreciation of the region. At each site, Kostas gave great advice on how to get the best experience from it, including giving a fantastic restaurant recommendation in Nafplio, and throughout the day the hours just flew by in his warm and engaging company. He is clearly so passionate about his country and culture, and about sharing them with visitors - and he was so focused on making sure that we had the best possible day, down to really thoughtful touches like providing bottled water and driving us up to the Palamidi fortress at Nafplio to see the view and take some photos, even though we had decided not to visit this site. We've wanted to visit the Peloponnese for some time and Kostas ensured that it lived up to and exceeded our hopes. We enjoyed his company so much during the day and are so grateful to him for such a special experience.

Knowledgeable driver with great recommendations
Kostas was a great driver enabling us to spend as long as we wanted at Mycenae! He gave us his card while we were in line for tickets to the site having noticed that we were dropped off but requested our original taxi not wait so we could explore at our leisure. He was very friendly and chatted with us in English about our trip on our way back to Nafplio. We shared that we were looking for two additional trips: one to Epidavros the next day and one to Ermioni the day after to catch a ferry to Hydra. Kostas recommended that we combine the trips and visit Epidavros as a stop on the way to Ermioni - saving us both time and funds while still hitting our planned itinerary items, and giving us essentially another half day of relaxation time. For our trip he met us exactly on time at the agreed spot, gave us a great history and shared family stories during the drive, pointed out interesting spots as we drove, and ensured we had a great time at the site without worry, and arrived at the ferry on time. Getting from Nafplio to Ermioni for the ferry was the one big piece of our itinerary I was worried about not renting a car for and Kostas made it very easy and enjoyable. Car was comfortable and climate controlled. Highly recommend for your visit!
